It has 10 bids meanwhile, and the price is at 120k. Sure prices will drop rapidly very soon, but that doesn't change my point.

Actually, yes, I do. They should be customized per default. This way they would actually mean something.

I didn't spend that money on luxury goods. I used that money entirely to buy skills, runes, weapons (cheap stuff, no high-end greens), and armor (normal armor, not 15k, let alone fissure). Now I have four very well equipped characters, thanks to two birthday presents. And I don't feel very good about it, because I didn't "earn" it. It's kinda lame.

I don't farm, either. All the gold I have was aquired from normal gaming (I don't sell stuff to other players, just the merchant).

I have about 70,000 g. Is that rich?

I use collectors armor until I can afford the cheapest max armor, and I hate buying Runes, but I do. I only buy the skills I need (or think I need, anyway).

I don't see why you feel bad: You kept those character for a year, you did earn the Presents.

So, anyway, my point stands: You don't need gold to play Guild Wars. Not a lot of it, anyway. (and by a lot, I mean over 100,000).

BTW, half that money is on my Necro, who in 50 hours of just playing the game, has somehow earned 35,000. Oh, and he has collector's armor w/ Bloodstained boots and all the runes, including sup. Death (cost over a grand, dang it). I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and buy the basic MM armor, or spend the extra gold for Canthan (those Monster bit prices are ridiculous, though!)

So what issue of PC Gamer will have this key for a unique minipet?

How about just answering the question jackass?

LOL. It's the November issue, but it comes out this month (September).

I recieved the last issue on August 12, so I hope the new one comes around that time, but sometimes they come as late as the 20.

I read somewhere they'll be available in-store on the 19th, but don't quote me on that.

If its not at Borders by 10:01 AM on 9-19-06, Im going to blame you.

As far as peoples complaints on Gold-> yes money is tight for your first couple of characters. The point Im at now, having 5 level 20s- ascended- I have:

1. The ability to travel to any collector to get max items for my two lowbies.
2. Enough materials and money to get them 1.5k armor from Kanig (i DONT have the money for a Drok run... just not happenin)
3. Enough collectors items to get my lowbies there max weapons
4. The runes cost me 100g each for the ones i didnt already have (I save all gold runes... recently completed a set of runes for my future Ranger in Elona)
5. I dont buy ANY prophecies skills. I do the quests.
6. I usually have an average of 10-30k in the bank at any given time. When i get low, I dont really farm so to speak, I just do Tomb of PK runs with my MM. The greens arent worth so much anymore, but its good fun with a decent and if you are lucky to get the Victos weapons you can make a little extra bonus.

Ive never really been much of a spammer-> I like GUILD WARS more than TRADE WARS. Every now and again I find something that I really wont ever use (victos bulwark) and I can make some good solid plat.

Half of my characters are using modded collectors items. I dont see the point of paying 50k for special weapon that does the same exact thing. I simply wont do it.

If you shift your focus on the gameplay rather than how much money is in your storage, you will find that you have more quicker. But yes, in the end gold is worthless except for novelty items (GET DRUNK@!)

Just a guess, but maybe the "grey giant" might look like a mini warden of the forest?

We already have this pic

and I'm told it also made an appearance in the Nightfall Cinematic trailer; though I haven't bothered to look.

Yeah; people are saying you can add the serial key now but you can't actually get the pet until you talk to an npc during the Nightfall pve preview. Even though it's during the preview, I assume it wont be an npc in Elona as you can't access your storage from there.....

I didn't see it in the trailer either, but some guy posted the very second it came into frame a while back.

My subscription just expired. I hadn't planned on renewing, and was going to use the extra money for more games.

Oh, well, if I don't get this issue, I'll just buy it.

So, any threads discussing the article?

I don't have the magazine in front of me at the moment, but you get the mini from a quest (as a reward). It said something about typing /bonusitems to get it again once in live (non-preview)... I think...

When I read it, I got the impression that they will be available on Elonian characters during the preview, but deleted along with the chars... then you can get it on your live characters ocne it hits retail.

*I'll look at it better later on... if I remember*

Try your local bookstore (Border's, etc.... cant think of the others, lol) in about a week. (the 17'th?)

I hope loose quotes from the mag are ok... if they aren't just PM me or edit them yourself.

*this is just a basic rundown of the directions given, only the last is word for word*

1. enter the unique key into the gw client

2. Run GW:NF and travel to Kamadan (Elonian City) if it is an existing character. New chars need to travel to Kamadan.

3. type /bonusitems to get a 'broken toy' in your bag

4. accept "The Toy's Story" quest from Mahk

5. Grey Giant is a quest reward for this quest

6. This I'll quote directly from PCGamer:
"If you've already scored your Grey Giant mini pet in the Preview Event and want to get him back for the final retail release, simply follow these steps again and you'll get him back!"

I hope that clears it up a bit.
